September 18, 1927 - Fort Wayne's WOWO Joined the New CBS Radio Network
WOWO first signed on the air on March 31, 1925 with with 500 watts at 1320 kilocycles. Since the call letters were chosen arbitrarily, the station held a contest for a slogan. The station chose “Wayne Offers Wonderful Opportunities.” When the station joined CBS it increased its power to 2,500 watts at night and  500 watts during the day.
The station is still on the air.
