The Dubois County Dragons of the Heartland League used League Stadium as home from 1996–1998. They were part of the Frontier League from 1999–2002. From 1996-2001, Huntingburg was the smallest city in the United States to host a professional baseball team. League Stadium stood unused after the Dragons franchise moved until the Bluff City Bombers of the Central Illinois Collegiate League moved to Huntingburg in 2005. The CICL has since merged into the Prospect League, which has teams, including the Dubois County Bombers, all over the Midwest.
League Stadium opened in 1894. The movie Soul of the Game was also filmed in the stadium.
League Stadium was renovated in 1991 and has a capacity of 2,783 fans.In 2012 the Library of Congress added League Stadium to the National Film Registry.
