Mary Stratton Park
The Mary Stratton Park derives its name from the founder of Aurora Woman's Research Club and daughter of Aurora's founder, Jesse L. Holman.
Aurora Woman's Research Club
Organized in 1896, the Research Club's mission was to promote the literary and culture of the women that belonged to the club. The club completed many projects around Aurora, including the creation of the park that bears the name of its founder. The Club dedicated the bandstand that stands in the park on July 17, 1914. There is also a picnic area and playground at Mary Stratton Park.
