Built in 1840 to cross the East Fork of the Whitewater River near Brownsville, the New Brownsville Covered Bridge was disassembled in 1974 and stored near the Eagle Creek Reservoir. It was rebuilt to replace the fire damaged Clifty Bridge at Mill Race Park in 1985. The Clifty Covered Bridge is the only Long Truss Structure in Indiana. The original 102 foot length has been shortened to 89.5 feet, including two eight foot overhangs. The portal clearance is 15’6”w x 15’6”h.
