The CSX Railroad enters Floyd County from the east crossing Silver Creek just south of East Spring Street. After crossing Indiana State Road 111 (Vincennes Street) in New Albany it turns north. After crossing under Interstate 265 it passes out of Floyd County.

CSX Railroad in Martin County
Length - About 13.3 Miles

The CSX Railroad enters Martin County about 14 miles from its intersection with Indiana State Road 57 in Washington, Indiana in Daviess County. The CSX line runs through downtown Loogootee, intersecting US Route 231 as it passes through town. It crosses to the south side of US Route 50, which it parallels, about 1.5 miles east of this intersection. About 6 miles east of that point US Route 150 crosses it shortly after it diverges from US Route 50 after going through downtown Shoals . There are two spurs, the first one about 2.5 miles east and the next about 3.9 miles east of that one at Willow Valley. The CSX line leaves Martin County about 3.9 miles northeast of this spur.

Length - Main West/East Line - About 22.3 Miles
North/South Line - 12.6 Miles
CSX main line enters Lawrence County from Martin County in the west about 11.4 miles from it's crossing in Mitchell. It exits Lawrence County about 15 miles east into Jackson County. The south/north line enters Lawrence County about 3.9 miles south of the crossing in Mitchell, Indiana from Orange County. It connects with the Indiana Railroad Company in Bedford about 11.3 miles to the north.

The CSX line in Monroe County begins near Indiana State Road 46 in Ellettsville, crosses the highway and runs on a southeasterly route towards its junction with the Indiana Railroad just west of 9th Street in Bloomington.

CSX Railroad in Jackson County



Length - About 30 Miles

The CSX rail line enters Jackson County about 7.8 miles west of Medora, Indiana where it intersects Indiana State Road 235. It intersects US Route 50 seven miles east of this intersection at a point about two miles west of Brownstown. In Seymour it intersects the Louisville and Indiana rail line about 11 miles east of the US Route 50 intersection. There is a transload facility located here, in Seymour with the Louisville and Indiana Railroad. Just a short distance east it intersects Indiana State Road 11. About 2.35 miles east it crosses under Interstate 65, then crosses US Route 31. It exits Jackson County and enters Jennings County about 2 miles east of the US Route 31 intersection.

The CSX rail line enters Jennings County about 11.3 miles east of its intersection with Indiana State Road 7/3 in North Vernon. It follows US Route 50 on the north side all the way through the county. The CSX rail line exits Jennings County about 10.6 miles west of the Indiana State Road 3/7 intersection.

CSX Railroad In Ripley County



The CSX Railroad enters Ripley on the western border about 3 miles from Holton, Indiana. It travels cross country and bissects Osgood, Indiana as it intersects US Route 421. It intersects Indiana State Road 129 4.8 miles further east and passes just north of Milan, Indiana as it intersects Indiana State Route 101. The CSX Railroad leaves Ripley County, crossing into Dearborn, County 1.75 miles east of this intersection after traveling about twenty miles in Ripley County.

CSX Railroad In Dearborn County
Length - About 21 miles.

The CSX Railroad enters Dearborn County from Ripley County about 1.7 miles from its intersection with Indiana State Road 101 in Ripley County. It passes the southwest corner of Moores Hill and about 14 miles from the county line the CSX Railroad intersects US Route 50 at Aurora, Indiana. About 4.13 miles from that intersection there is a spur line which connects with the Central Railroad of Indiana. About 1.2 miles east of this spur it passes under Interstate 275. About .5 miles further east it the CSX Railroad passes crosses the Indiana/Ohio state line and out of Dearborn County.
