The Virgil I. Grissom Monument is in downtown Mitchell on the west side of S. 6th Street between College and Grissom Aves. The monument to Gus Grissom is a scaled down model of his Gemini space capsule, dubbed the Molly Brown by Gus after his Mercury capsule sank in the Atlantic after returning from space.
