Traveling to see the Overlook of Scott County is for the more adventurous traveler, as it is on a backroad, not far from the Leota Covered Bridge. To get there from Scottsburg, Indiana, travel 2.5 miles south of the intersection of US 31 and Indiana State Road 56 in Scottsburg. Turn west, or right, onto Leota Road. You will travel about 4.5 miles to the town of Leota. Go through the bridge and turn left. Follow Leota Road 1.75 to two miles. You will be winding up a steep hill. At the top of the hill, there is a pull off. You are in the Knob Country of southern Indiana. To the left and behind you is an expansive view of Scott County.
