About 14.5 miles north of this intersection it intersects Indiana State Road 250 north of Moorefield, Indiana at Mount Pleasant. About 4.3 miles north of this intersection, after straddling the county line of Ripley and Switzerland counties for about a mile, the highway enters Ripley County.

Indiana State Road 129 enters Ripley County from the south about one half mile from its intersection with Indiana State Road 62, 1.4 miles south of Cross Plains, Indiana. On it's route north it passes through Olean, Versailles, Delaware, and Batesville.
In addition to Indiana State Road 62, which follows it for 2.5 miles, Indiana State Road 129 intersects US 421, US 50, Indiana State Road 350 and Indiana State Road 46. It crosses the CSX rail line south of Delaware and the Central Railroad of Indiana east of Batesville. Interstate 74 may be accessed by driving west on Indiana State Road 46 to Indiana State Road 229.
